  • Daily nutrition (calculation of requirements)
  • Macronutrient distribution
  • Types of fat (omega 3 and 6, fatty acid composition)
  • Important micronutrients for athletes
  • Proper hydration (complications will be covered here, e.g. dehydration, hiponatremia, rhabdomyolysis)
  • Nutritional requirements during a long run, training and/or race (g/kg weight/hr, types of carbohydrates)
  • Carb loading
  • Recovery
  • Examples of an ultrarunner case (calculations and examples will be provided)

About Carla

Professionally, I have over 10 years of experience in the human nutrition field. I have a Doctorate degree (PhD) in nutrition and metabolism (CAN), I am a certified sports nutrition coach (USA) and a Licenciado in Nutricion (MEX; Nutrition degree 5 years length) as well as a personal trainer specialist (CAN) with numerous specialities. I have worked in hospitals, clinics, and in multiple athletic and fitness centres. Last but not least, I am a competitive athlete. Few in the fitness and nutrition industry can match my education and hands-on experience not just professionally but also as an athlete.
